The story chronicles two strangers, a man and a woman,
who board a train at 4:30 a.m. Theyre alone in the car, each is
married, and both are doing the New York Times crossword. Shes
an organized, sensible, psychologist. Hes a free spirited, unemployed
ad exec. She is a crossword pro, he always quits.
When he tosses his puzzle away, she snaps, Crosswords are metaphors
for life, those who finish, succeed those who dont, fail.
Now he vows to finish. Why? Hes a competitor and she happens to
be lovely.
Their trip is filled with unpredictable but believable surprises, even
a passionate kissing embrace or two. At the end of the ride, each of
them has been changed for the better.
A rich theatrical piece... A fascinating 80 minutes in which light
banter turns to raw emotion... creates a tone that perfectly underscores
both the comic and dramatic elements of this surprisingly memorable
play, 2 Across is a must see play of the year, wrote
the Los Angeles Weekly.
Performances of 2 Across are scheduled for Feb. 7-9 and
Feb. 15-16 at 8 p.m. and at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 10 and Feb. 17. Tickets for
