VEVAY, Ind. Switzerland County Tourism announces
the grand opening ceremony celebrating the renovation of the Grisard
Building located at 217 Ferry St. in downtown Vevay. The ribbon
cutting will take place around 3 p.m. Thursday, April 29.
Funding for the project includes a grant from the Indiana Housing and
Community Development Authoritys Real Eastate Captial Access Program,
part of Lieut. Gov. Becky Skillmans family of business. Local
contributors are comprised of the Switzerland County Government, Switzerland
County Tourism, Switzerland County Economic Development Corporation,
The Community Foundation of Switzerland County, Town of Vevay, and the
Vevay-Switzerland Foundation.
After nearly a decade of vacancy, the revitilization celebration will
take place from 3-7 p.m. at the store on the corner of Ferry and Main
Street. Now known as the Of Switzerland County store,
its new name links the stores products to the locale. The location
was formerly the home of a hardware store and Grisard Hall that featured
live performances.
The public is invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony as well as the
reception. Live entertainment and refreshments will be provided.
