(February 2005) – Oldham County Chamber of Commerce members will be “showcasing” their businesses at the 11th annual Oldham Showcase from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5. The event will take place in the former Wal-Mart building at Crestwood Station, located at 6200 W. Hwy. 146 in Crestwood.
The popular event will feature more than 100 commercial and nonprofit exhibitor booths, many prize drawings and giveaways, a silent auction, food court vendors, caricature artist Denny Whalen, live stage entertainment and a “Kid’s Korner,” sponsored by Dream Factory. Keeping with this year’s theme, “All Aboard,” the Kentucky and Indiana Model Railroad Club will be running HO scale modules throughout the event.
Oldham County Chamber officials say this year’s Showcase is on track to be the best ever.
The event is free to the public, offering a unique opportunity to see what products and services are available in the commaunity. “It gives people a chance to find services they may be able to take advantage of that they didn’t know were out there,” said Kathy Jacobs, community relations director for the chamber.
For businesses, the 2005 Showcase will begin on Friday, Feb. 4, with a noon chamber luncheon sponsored by Bedford Bank and Bell South. During the luncheon, in addition to a live auction and the unveiling of the new Oldham County Chamber of Commerce Logo, the “Oldham County Top Achievers” awards will be presented to winners in six categories. This is the third year for the luncheon and awards.
