In many ways, Jennings was the face of the historical society. She became a member of the club in 1984 and served as president from 1990 until 2003.
People have been sending condolences from all over, said Joy Mack, the current president. She did not affect people just in Kentucky but across the country.
Jennings was best known for her extensive knowledge of genealogy. She worked on publishing genealogical books and helped many families trace their family tree. She was also extremely knowledgeable about history in the community.
Jennings was a wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. In addition to the Trimble County Historical Society, she was a member of the Kentucky Historical Society and a dedicated member of the Westport United Methodist Church.
“There is a lot of warmth out there for her in the community,” said Mack. “She gave so much of herself to everybody.”

Although Jennings was no longer president of the historical society, she never stopped working, said Wilber Cundiff, historical society treasurer. She handled all of the mailouts for the society, keeping track of in state and out of state correspondences.
“I can’t begin to say all she has done,” he said. “We don’t know what we are going to do with out her.”
